Even as a 19 year old, I still loved this stream! They never disappoint!!! My parents took me on my first “long trip” to Hawaii at age 7 and I have fallen in love with traveling!

Awesome video and great tips! We are taking our son to London at the end of October. We bought him a Lego double-decker bus and have been talking about it to him as well. One other thing we are actually doing is fly to New York the night before and taking a daytime flight where we leave New York in the morning and get to London in the evening. It avoids that overnight jet lag.
I think you are correct, they are so excited to go with mom and dad and giving them things to look forward to makes it even better. Keep the videos coming! It really helps others to see other parents with the victories and struggles.
The best advice I can give to people is do not worry about others. You will always have somebody scoff with your baby or child is crying, just let it roll off your back.

We loved travel with our daughter until we took her to Europe at age 14. The trip was a disaster-she did not want to do anything and did not want to participate in much. No more nice trips for her! She has gone on a few family trips within the US in the past 10 years. She regrets her behavior now at the age of 23.

We have traveled with our daughter since she was 11 months old, went to Toronto, Ontario, Canada. New York when she was 1 year old. Myrtle Beach South Carolina when she was 3. Phoenix Arizona when she was 4. Disney World when she was 5. Florida Panhandle multiple times since she was 8. Been back to New York a few times. Disney World again when she was 14. We love to travel as a family. Now, she's 19 and we're vacationing in Laguna Beach and Southern California in September this year. Looking forward to that very much. 😊

Pro tip. Have a spouse who is willing to watch the kid at night so you can go drinking. You're welcome

My parents NEVER EVER! took my sister and myself overseas at any age while they went every year, a few times a year and we stayed totally alone since I was about 10 and my sister 7. They tried to deceive us by bringing chocolates back to show "how good they are". They never wanted us with them. I had the father from hell. You are the most amazing father, your daughter is so lucky.

I don’t presume to understand the family dynamic from a single comment about what you dealt with growing up, but as someone who is really hesitant about kids bc I like traveling a really specific way and seeing as many cultural landmarks in a place as possible before going home, I often think the only way I could agree to children with a partner is if this part of my identity could be untouched by kids until they’re older and they’re down to travel the way I do, if at all interested in that.
Maybe some family trips to places I’ve gone before, so they’d learn to appreciate travel and different cultures at a young age, but definitely not most of my trips.
I’d love your advice on how you’d navigate that if you were in my position: conscious of both the parents having their own vacations and kids not getting neglected long-term?

There is nothing that makes me more happy than to have my children with me on a vacation and spend time with them. They come first.

Hi Chirs. When you arrive at your destination after a long flight with a child, do you make the first day of your trip a rest day? Or do you plan to go on trips on your first day? Have you experienced a domino effect of tiredness in the following days of the trip if you are not able to rest properly during the first day? For a week long trip, do you dedicate a rest day where you have no plans?

Hi George. We generally don't plan anything for our arrival day. And yes. The first full day after that we usually try to only have a few light things on the agenda. We don't really plan full rest days.. but certainly we don't like be getting up at 6am every day either day.. so if one day had an early start. Then the next day will be in a sleep in day. We generally don't like to just do 1 night in hotels. You never really get to rest.. so we try to do 2-3 nights per hotel before moving on

@@YellowProductions Hi Chirs, do you usually rent a car or ride taxis if possible when you're on a trip? In our case, I think we are only limited to the public transportation. I ask this because I am wondering what is your experience in hauling around baby gear like strollers/carriers, and baby bags, all around the place in almost the entire duration of your trip? Is it safe to assume that the difficulty is multiplied by the number of toddlers? We are still planning our first international family trip and we are still trying to figure out stuff, we also try to do simulated local trips.

Spending a week in Tokyo and a week in Matsumoto and Kanazawa. Would you recommend a stroller for a 3 1/2 year old and 10 month old?

I have a whole video about Japan with kids where I talk more about that: ruclips.net/user/liveru3J6vCmeNg?si=-uERjxBV1DoG_ft9
But briefly. Stroller is hard to use in Tokyo on the subway because of a real lack of elevators. So just be aware of that.
